The Company:
Our client is a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions for the infrastructure (pipe systems, and power and communication cables), automotive and advanced packaging markets. They have its headquarters in the UAE and Singapore.
Our client is on the way to increase their capacity even further with a multi - billion dollar mega- project. By the end of 2013, they will have added a 3rd Ethane cracker to create the largest Ethane cracker complex in the world.

The Role:
About the job:
Our Production teams are responsible for the safe operation of our polyolefin production facilities - comprising of Polyethylene Plants, Polypropylene Plants, Cracker Plants, Olefin Conversion Units and Utility Plants, to achieve our production targets in compliance with quality and sound HSE practices
Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be part of the Production team and will be responsible for:
• Coordinating and supervising a team of Operators on assigned shift, the operation of PE/PP units in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the production, processing and distribution of diversified PE /PP products meeting specified qualities and quantities within the designated area.
• Coordinating periodic checks, adjustments and maintains follow-up on all maintenance activities in his respective operating area.
• Completing log book and other work reports noting state of operating plants, corrective action taken and highlighting other items of plant that need further attention.
• Supervising plant start-ups, shutdown and emergencies as per established operating procedures.
• Regular contacts with Laboratory and Material Handling at supervisory level for general coordination of operations and routine maintenance work.
• Regular contacts with Area Maintenance Engineers/Supervisors and Safety & Fire personnel on shift, to coordinate and follow up maintenance activities.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
About you:
As a successful candidate you will have:
• Secondary plus Technical or Diploma Course (2 years) or higher.
• At least 6 years work experience in Polyolefins plants including 3 years in a Supervisor position.
• Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Very good analytical & leadership skills.
• Excellent team player.
• Proficient in the use of computer, i.e. MS Office, CMMS, etc
