The Role:
Working closely with Manufacturing (HUM) in Swindon Tier 1 & 2 suppliers you will play a pivotal role in supporting the quality management and improvement of automotive parts and sub-assemblies. Assuring the quality of inbound and dispatch goods to ensure any actual or potential quality concerns are minimized, contained and eradicated by the development and application of countermeasures based on root cause analysis. You will be supporting new model introductions, playing a key role in ensuring parts and sub-assemblies from supplying regions comply with specification, design level and drawings in line with the implementation cycle.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Project managing suppliers parts and processes from development to mass production
• For new model and or new business introductions, track and analyse processes such as Build Data, Capacity Studies and Design Changes.
• Confirmation of parts quality and ensuring availability of the correct tooling level at pre-production builds
• Lead and control parts quality problem resolution, using activities such as containment, inspection, root cause and countermeasure.
• Take lead role in auditing timing plans of new model, ensuring project plan is regularly reported to management and correct agreements are signed with customers and suppliers.
• Lead and resolve any aftermarket / warranty claims made for parts supplied.
• Check and develop inward packaging with suppliers to look for efficiencies.
• Demonstrate appropriate commercial awareness in all business activities ensuring commercial position is adequately safeguarded at all times.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Volume manufacturing experience
• Experience of Quality Assurance with suppliers
• Ability to analyse data and recommend solutions
• Knowledge of BOM and parts structures
• Ability to check and verify parts against CAD drawings
• Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel without restriction

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Automotive manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of supply development
• A recognised qualification in engineering (eg mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)
