The Role:
Working closely with Honda UK Manufacturing (HUM) in Swindon or HUM’s Tier 1 & 2 suppliers, you will play a key role in ensuring quality improvement of automotive parts and sub-assemblies. You will be assuring the quality of inbound and dispatched goods handled by HTE to ensure any actual or potential quality concerns are minimized, contained and eradicated by the development and application of countermeasures based on root cause analysis.

During new model introductions you will play a key role in ensuring parts and sub-assemblies from supplying regions comply with specification, design level and drawings in line with the implementation cycle.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•For new model and or new business introductions, track and analyse supplier processes such as Build Data generation, Capacity Studies and Design Changes.
•Confirmation of parts quality as well as availability of the correct tooling level at pre-production builds.
•Lead and control new model parts quality problem resolution, using activities such as containment, inspection, root cause and countermeasure.
•Take lead HTE role in auditing timing plans of new model, ensuring project plan is regularly reported to HTE management and correct agreements are signed with customers and suppliers.
•Lead and resolve any aftermarket / warranty claims made for parts supplied by HTE.
•Check and develop inward packaging with suppliers to look for efficiencies.
•Demonstrate appropriate commercial awareness in all business activities ensuring that HTE’s commercial position is adequately safeguarded at all times.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Person Specification: Essential Skills & Experience required
•Engineering background
•Volume manufacturing, to include mass production volume verification
•Ability to check and verify parts against CAD drawings
•Quality management reporting to include the analysis of data and recommending solutions
•Supplier Quality Assurance
•Extensive problem solving, focused on determining the root cause
•Managing the quality resolution process from the reporting of the concern and containment through to countermeasure confirmation
•Full UK driving license and the ability to travel without restriction

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The following is not essential but would be advantageous:
•Automotive manufacturing experience
•Knowledge of BOM and parts structures
•Supplier development
•Project management experience
•A recognised qualification in engineering (eg mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)
