The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
To support supplier & part Quality Planning activities for the successful launch of new product introductions and to actively pursue performance improvement of the supplier base.

Working as part of a team in the SQM department within Quality department. reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer within DQM. The jobholder will collaborate with all other members of the SQM team, all areas of Quality, Purchase, Logistics, Engineering and the Client supplier base.

- Supplier Quality planning and parts maturation.
- Parts Quality planning and supplier process status reporting.
- Project & Pilot hall support.
- Supplier liaison and control on or off site.

- Not responsible for recruitment or salaries.
- No authority for spending.
- No authority for credit/refunds.
- The jobholder will have authority to give disposition of supplied parts quality and to advise supplier of corrective actions required to resolve concerns.
- Responsibility to develop & present processes and procedures for adoption.
- Responsible for parts and supplier status reporting.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Relevant engineering qualification, HNC or higher
* Associate membership of the IQA is desirable

Previous experience required, knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Computer literate with SAP, TEVON, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Knowledge of Quality tools including use of statistical techniques & analysis (SPC & Capability studies), 8D, Pareto, kaizen, Failure Mode Effective Analysis (FMEA - design and process), fault tree, etc.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
[I] Knowledge of vehicle exterior lighting in terms of:
- Assembly techniques and processes
- Component parts
- Technology and operation
- Interface to BIW

[II] Knowledge of electronics/PCB assembly techniques and processes:
- Conventional component placement
- Surface mount component placement
- Test methodologies

[III] Knowledge of plastic injection moulding techniques and processes:
- Basic tooling design and operation
- Ability to diagnose simple processing and tooling problems

[IV] Knowledge of vibration / sonic welding techniques and processes:
- Especially when applied to external lighting applications for vehicles.
