The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Responsible for Supplier Bumper System Quality Planning activities for the successful launch of new product introductions. Maturation in line with design specification, completion of 2 Day Production Trial process & approval of parts. Technical support on Supplier Quality issues including ‘Group Sign-off’, Production and Field.
Ensure external suppliers Product Quality targets are achieved.

1. Delivery of Parts Quality planning tools in line with project gateways
a. Lessons learnt
b. Support risk assessments of parts content
c. Facilitation and reporting of Quality Technical Review activities prior to nomination.
d. Application of Group Advanced Quality Planning tools QPN-i

2. Part Maturation, Approval and Capacity analysis
a. Conduct approval process with support from other functions where required
b. Ability to manage a complex supply chain in line with challenging Project Timescales.
c. Support Quality process including management of suppliers and parts through process.
d. Problem management within supply base including Audit & QMB concern resolution.
e. Conduct and report 2DP in line with Quality plan

3. Achieve Quality targets on pre series & series vehicles (Audit, DPV, Aftersales)
a. Drive actions to achieve targets on Product Audit Quality issues.
b. Identify risks against targets and escalate
c. Drive actions to achieve targets on QMM warranty/PDI issues

4. Drive supplier improvement & Problem solving
a. Monitor supplier performance measures
b. Drive supplier improvement initiatives
c. Support the supplier nomination process
d. Solves problems using recognised techniques to establish root cause and containments
e. Deliver effective presentations

5. Deputise for the Senior Quality Manager where required
a. Support Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with the management of key deliverables within the team related to meeting the business requirements
b. Support Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with key operational activities as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree qualification or higher in an engineering field or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline with extensive relevant experience.
Associate membership of a relevant professional institution.
Driving license.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Significant experience and knowledge of Engineering across Exterior commodity.
Significant Exterior experience in automotive supplier quality management either at a supplier or OEM.
Demonstrable track record and significant experience of management systems and processes to mature parts and resolve technical problems related to parts quality from suppliers.
Significant experience and demonstrable track record of quality planning.
Track record of delivering QA standards related to parts QA against time & cost constraints.
Computer literate with excellent presentation skills to board level.
Can motivate and influence others to change including senior management at suppliers.
Can communicate convincingly and professionally to board level & at suppliers.

Essential Practical knowledge and experience in Exterior commodity specifically Painted Bumper Systems & Chrome Plated parts.
Large Injection Mould Tool Lessons Learned experience preferable i.e. ‘A’ Surface Gating, Split Lines.
