The Role:
Experienced Sub contract Manager
We need someone who can execute a supply contract, in taking the signed supply equipment subcontract, specification and Statement of Work and work this through to the delivery of hardware (preferably someone who has been involved with the Development of equipment's).
To manage the purchase phase of the supply chain core process and deliver equipments (e.g. solar arrays, thrusters, battery systems, propulsion systems, etc.) to projects on time, to cost and fulfilling all performance and quality requirements.
Provide support to all aspects of the Supply Chain process for Equipments and participate in schedule and cost improvement initiatives within Astrium and with suppliers.

Responsibilities
* OQOT delivery of equipments from suppliers, suppliers such as OHB Sweden, Bradford Engineering, ABSL, TAS Italy.
* Day-to-day management of contract implementation (multi-project, international); timely and accurate reporting to PSMs; facilitate appropriate technical interaction between project (MSC/MPC) and supplier
* Acquiring in-depth knowledge of supplier leading to effective control of supplier
* Identifying risks and proposing/agreeing mitigating actions
* Delegated responsibility for quality; organizing expert support (EEE, M&P, technical, ..); chairing design and production reviews
* Completion of annual supplier evaluation (with appropriate support)
* Local follow-up/support to development plans (defined by SDM)
* Purchasing equipment in the range of Instrument booms, mechanical and electrical items, structural mechanisms, heat shields, electrical harness, propulsion, equipment, magnetometer, mass memory unit.
* Working on the following projects, Solar Orbitor and Sentinel No 5 pre cursor.

Primary Activities for this role
* Act as the focal point towards the supplier(s)
* Manage all aspects of the subcontract execution, in particular is accountable for OQ OT OC delivery of equipments and related documentation & services
* Perform the follow-up of the supplier progress from Kick Off to delivery and act as the interface between supplier and Project Supply manager all the way to the delivery point of the equipment to Flight stores/AIT.
* Manage the Subcontracts/Requisitions/Purchase Orders/Invoicing using the company IT systems

* Report to programmes/projects on progress, risk, schedule and cost and quality management.
o Integrate Supplier reporting methodology in to Project reporting process, agree best process between Project and Supplier
o Integrate Supplier schedule in to Project Master Schedule
o Provide weekly update to Project Schedule
o Attend weekly Project Reviews with the PSM
o Report on/manage assigned Work Packages (including budget) as necessary
* Report on individual equipment status; progress, technical issues, PA issues
* Manage the flow of change requests and change notices to and from the supplier during this phase; ensure compliance of suppliers to the Terms and Conditions of the contract.
o Negotiate change requests with the Supplier, minimise cost and schedule impact
o Keep Sub-Contract department informed of status
* Liaise with Export Control Department to ensure fulfilment and supplier compliance of export control regulations such as ITAR
* Conduct the acceptance and delivery process (including reviews).
o Ensure Test data received and reviewed by Procurement and Engineering.
o Ensure initial EIDP received and reviewed
o Ensure necessary support at TRB

* Skill in being able to gain a summary understanding of the technical attributes of the Equipment, to enable a productive dialogue with the Project Experts and wider stake holders.
* Skill to positively influence the outcome of any issue whilst being creative and providing concise mitigation responses.
* Skilled in the Identification of risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation and realising benefit.
* Skilled in driving the supplier schedule and managing them to resolve all of their technical, programmatic and quality issues.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* HND/Degree in a Aerospace or relevant Engineering subject
* Previous experience with commercial/project management background
* Advanced level of Microsoft office applications
* Willingness to travel as and when required
* Knowledge of product assurance principles. Awareness of appropriate standards for space, ESA, ECSS, DSCC, MIL, etc
* Knowledge of Company Quality Systems ISO 9001
