The Role:
Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems.

This role will be based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. This is a contract position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase phase for equipment supply subcontracts.

These are likely to be development flight equipment but equally they could be supporting ground or infrastructure i.e. (solar arrays, electro mechanical mechanisms, On Board Computers, Structural, MGSE special to type).
You will have extensive Sub Contract/Supply Chain Management experience ideally from the Aerospace, Engineering or Aviation industries.

Responsibilities
Procurement Phase
* If required, support the procurement phase (Phase B) of the supply process: preparation of Invitation To Tender (ITT) packages, supplier proposal evaluation, supplier negotiation and selection for different projects

Purchasing Phase
* Drive OQ OT OC delivery from suppliers by effective day-to-day management of sub-contract and supplier delivery in accordance with the SOW (typically multi-project, international contracts); timely and accurate reporting to Project Supply Managers; facilitate appropriate technical interaction between project (MSC) and supplier
* Coordinate the interfaces of all the stakeholders involved in the supplier management process (procurement, technical, quality / EEE parts / material & processes, commercial & contract)
* Responsibility for driving the EQSR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, TRB/SRB & DRB process.
* Management of NCR's and RFWD and chairing of NRB's. Co-ordinate specialist quality interfaces for MIP's, EEE, radiation and M&P.
* Monitor the progress of the supplier and agree corrective action as necessary in close liaison with the project engineering, product assurance, contracts and project office
* Acquiring in-depth knowledge of supplier leading to more effective control
* Identify in close liaison with the project team and the supplier appropriate risks covering technical, schedule and commercial aspects. Ensure implementation of mitigation actions by the supplier.
* Ensure fulfilment of export control regulations such as ITAR
* Maintain metrics related to the execution of the contract (schedule, quality, cost)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* HND/Degree in an Aerospace/Engineering related subject
* Advanced level of Microsoft Office applications
