The Role:
The SCM Coordinator is responsible for the provision of procurement expertise and to undertake the efficient purchasing of materials and services at the lowest total acquisition cost to the asset/s whilst ensuring compliance with the company procedures and internal controls.
◦Full understanding of scope and range of day-to-day SCM responsibilities
◦Timely PO placement for responsible goods and services in line with area of support needs
◦To source and purchase materials and services in the most efficient and cost effective method in accordance with company procedures.
◦To ensure that a full audit trail is maintained for all procurement transactions.
◦Ensure receipt of correctly completed and approved PO requisitions prior to PO placement
◦Ensure Orders are being placed in line with contractual requirements and are clearly relayed to suppliers
◦Ensure proper attention to timely resolution of invoice queries
◦To provide ad hoc support to, and holiday cover for other SCM Coordinators.
◦Take ownership of day-to-day issues and work to conclusion using own initiative
◦Ensure timely completion of own goals & tasks
◦To review service requirements and decide as to whether they should be routed for commercial and/or HSEQ risk assessment in accordance with relevant procedures.
◦To provide procurement expertise and actively engage with user groups to develop sourcing plans and strategies.
◦Supervise day-to-day tasks of Assistant Coordinator to ensure deliverables are being fulfilled
◦To constantly monitor and assess supply source effectiveness and arrange meetings to address problems or issues.
◦Day-to-day liaison with internal contacts to understand needs and requirements
◦Day-to day close liaison with Logistics/Materials peers
◦Regular contact with external supplier base as/when required
◦To formally appraise and measure supplier performance using the FPAL process.
◦To identify and recommend suppliers using FPAL as the preferred evaluation route whilst ensuring single sourcing is justified and documented.
◦To progress and expedite outstanding orders in conjunction with the Expeditor to achieve agreed delivery dates and ensure that outstanding commitments are accurately reflected on the Supply Chain System.
◦To proactively identify potential Supply Agreement opportunities.
◦To monitor procurement performance within the company and identify areas for improvement and savings.
◦Facilitate resolution of invoice queries with Accounts Payable/Supplier
◦To develop and provide statistical reports and measurements.
◦Update Procurement Lead with completion status of own responsibilities within section
◦To develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Supply Chain System to provide guidance and training to User Groups.
◦Provide coaching and mentoring to sectional staff as/when requested or needed
◦Contribute to Monthly Report
◦To act as the point of contact to provide guidance to User Groups on effective procurement and participate in related initiatives.
◦Stand in for Procurement Lead as/when needed or required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
◦Preferred degree level in appropriate subject/ or CIPS Qualification or working towards formal SCM qualification



Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
◦SCM Technical Skill Level 2 in Procurement/Subcontracts
◦SCM Technical Skill Level 3 in Procurement/Subcontracts
