The Role:
The SURF HSSE Team Lead reports to and supports the SURF Delivery Manager, providing HSSE support to the Risers & Moorings Project Manager, Flowlines & Drill Centre Project Manager and the Offshore Construction Manager, and their respective teams. Also has a functional reporting line to the Project HSSE Manager.

The SURF HSSE Team Lead also recruits and leads the SURF HSSE Team, consisting of HSE Advisors and Safety Coaches, providing HSSE support to the SURF Teams and on vessels and worksites involved in the Field Suspension and SURF Installation workscopes.

•Support and influence the SURF delivery managers and teams in their delivery of safe and efficient Project operations. Monitor activities and performance, intervening as necessary to achieve Project HSSE goals.
•Manage SURF HSSE resources efficiently to support SURF operational priorities.
•Monitor and influence SURF Contractor and Supplier HSSE performance to meet Project requirements and expectations.
•Maintain a good understanding of the Project HSSE requirements and priorities, interfacing with Project HSSE Manager and wider Project HSSE Team as necessary, and providing accurate and timely guidance to SURF Management.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Personal commitment to achieving the highest HSSE standards.
•Ability to process high volumes of data, identify critical HSSE priorities and influence performance of others in support of delivering them.
•Proven success in leading HSSE team in support of on and offshore operations for a Major Project.
•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Proven track record as a strong team player.
•Knowledge of relevant HSSE Legislation and ability to interpret into practical guidance.
•Degree level professional HSSE qualification
•Chartered Membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body
•Several years plus industry experience including extensive offshore vessel based construction experience.
•Extensive personnel management experience.
•Flexible and pragmatic approach with strong emphasis on proactive problem solving.
