The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
As a Survey Assistant your main duties will involve:
You will report directly to the Survey Technologist and have the ability to assist in the management and prioritization of multiple concurrent survey related projects. Also you will assist in the performance of field surveys to collect all spatial data required by using the latest GPS, total stations, and electronic data collectors.

• Assists in the performance of field surveys for the Lower Churchill Project.
• Field surveys to include quality control, topographic, survey control, legal, as-builts, cross sections, profiles, quantity calculations, and real property reports.
• Assists with all other survey field work as required.
• Assists in other survey and/or lands related duties as required.
• Completes land research as required.
• Demonstrates adherence to established ethical standards. Sets high standards for self and monitors practice.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As a Survey Assistant you will have experience:
• Minimum of completion of one year of a technology program in Surveying from a recognized post-secondary education institution, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Incumbent should have a minimum of one year of field surveying experience. Experience in Surveying work with an electric utility company would be an asset.
• Required to travel and work for extended periods which will require a commitment to work extended hours to avail of suitable weather conditions and meet work schedules.
• Travel is required and may include travel by airplane, helicopter, snowmobile, ATV, and boat.
• Must possess a valid Class 5 NL driver’s license.
• Incumbent must be willing to work in a remote location.
• Rotation will be 14/7.
• Incumbent must be willing to live in camp environment.
