The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Opportunity: Suspension System Architecture (SSA) is responsible for the design, development and engineering release of a number of key vehicle systems including but not limited to the following:-

Suspension links, hubs & knuckles, subframes and engine mounting systems This role is essential for us to develop the Virtual Toolsets required for SSA to bring our engineering into the New Era! This means embedding robustness in our design creation so we create solutions which are right first time, reducing late change. We will be generating data with automation, minimising non value-add activity. The efficiency savings could be re-invested in exploring the "what ifs" resulting in a more optimised Chassis and Vehicle, saving D&D by being empowered to bring engineering in-house and developing Virtual Capability of greater confidence that again could be embedded in our toolsets. To create and deploy the toolsets required we need to have a team of people working together with skills covering FEA and 1D modelling, AVA CAD creation and scripting of CAD and analysis tools. This role is to help bolster the scripting skills mix of the team.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Creating Scripted Automated Analysis Tools, starting from an FEA text deck: User interface creation, input deck processing and formulation, submission to and copy back from HPC, post-processing and reporting. Both creating new and building on existing scripts, maintaining a robust, easily modified, future proof methodology throughout. Including productionising, engineers code, Automation of existing processes: For example bearing sizing excel process, creation of user interfaces.

Key Interactions: Technical Specialists, SMEs, Structural Analysts, Component Engineers, Chassis AVA Leads, AVA Engineers in other COCs"

3 KEY SKILLS Scripting languages: VBA, Python, TCL, Windows Command Ability to interact with others to identify opportunities, then gather and understand the inputs and desired outputs of the tools Proven experience of delivering tools with great functionality, robustness and quality to the hands of the customer

Experience Required: Delivers any training required to make the customer a proficient user of the tool developed, ensuring that it is embedded in the working process.Takes ownership of their projects, leading them from start to finish. Self-motivated, uses initiative and problem solver

Experience Preferred: Familiarity with the CAD System, HPC system, Hyperworks, Abaqus CAE, NCode and general Finite Element Analysis desired. Scripting languages: CATScript. A passion for the automotive industry and the potential of virtual engineering and automation. Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs.Proactive team player, who is happy to be hands on and build cross-functional relationships Coaching of others in the opportunities of scripting to help identify the potential projects.Training of others in scripting methodologies.
