The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry. This role supports our client's project in Iraq. The role will be based in Iraq on a 28/28 rotational status.

The Role:
Role Synopsis
The System Configuration Manager reports to the IT Operations Manager. The System Configuration Manager is responsible for the reporting of the IT systems and applications. The role will also be responsible for delivery and management of the standard build process.

The individual must be able to capture requirements and deliver accurate reporting in line with IT and business needs. Responsible for developing close working relationships between the project IT Staff and onsite experts/contractors to improve knowledge sharing and deliver further efficiencies.

Key Accountabilities

o Deliver to agreed infrastructure and user support services targets, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources, constantly looking at opportunities to further enhance services
o Reporting and management of the project's IT systems
o Identify risks to service delivery, recommend options to address risks and execute approved options
o Manage/lead/participate in BackOffice enhancement projects
o Maintaining an up-to-date System build environment ensuring all patches and hot-fixes are applied
o Develop a test process to ensure all applications/updates are tested prior to deployment.
o Usage of scripting and deployment tools for software.
o Define and execute BackOffice related 'changes
o Regular training and development of the project's IT SOC staff

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
o Extensive work experience in a similar infrastructure services management position.
o Knowledge of BackOffice IT systems
o Extensive knowledge Operating system and hardware level support.
o Knowledge of scripting techniques.
o Track record of delivering services to agreed targets.
o Experience in managing performance of 3rd party service providers.
o Working knowledge of Infrastructure services frameworks e.g. ITIL.
o Knowledge of a large organisation's IT standards, processes and policies.
