The Role:
This role provides systems engineering support to our clients gas plant, based on Shetland. Working a rotation, 3/3, the service provider is expected to provide an in-depth knowledge and expertise of asset process control and safety systems including ESD and F&G. The role is also responsible for managing control and information management systems, providing first-line support, maintenance, troubleshooting and minor modification support for a range of hardware and software systems.
The service provider is expected to maximise the availability of equipment and ensure appropriate healthcare and maintenance is conducted in line with Total’s preventative maintenance routines and procedures.

• Proactively participate in site SHE initiatives, including SSV’s, SUSA, ISSOW audits.
• Act as the focal point for asset integrated process control and safety systems including ESD and F&G, subsea control system, telecom systems and manage control and information management systems (i.e. PCS, PI).
• Technically supervise any major intervention (planned maintenance, defect repairs or modification) on the above equipment.
• Provide first line troubleshooting and problem solving capacity.
• Work with Methods team to develop Maintenance Procedures.
• Anticipate future requirements and system modification and improvements.
• Provide technical assistance to Engineering and Construction Contractor engineers when surveying asset facilities for modifications.
• Ensure compliance with Change Control procedure.
• Technically review and comment on Engineering and Construction Work Packs for modifications. Act as focal point for class 2 work packs Site implementation ensuring proper close out.
• Assist in preparation and commissioning of new facilities. Technically accept work performed in discipline area.
• Ensure all major work related to integrated process control and safety systems including ESD and F&G, management of control and information management systems (i.e. PCS, PI) is properly defined and prepared prior to intervention (permits, materials, equipment and manpower).
• Accept work on completion ensuring proper close out and compliance with change control throughout the work.
• Monitor adherence to TEPUK maintenance management procedures by carrying out routine audits.
• Monitor efficiency of maintenance and vendor teams.
• Input into weekly, 6 week look ahead and long term planning.
• Ensure all shutdown work orders are properly resourced and advise planning requirements.
• Ensure all planned maintenance routines for equipment are performed in a timely manner. Provide technical support to Maintenance and Integrity Superintendent to review/comment any request for deferrals prior to going for final approval.
• Take charge of breakdowns to appraise and plan recovery.
• Coordinate Plant Black Start operations at Safety and PCS system level.
• Ensure site critical spares are properly defined, stored and maintained.
• Review and release work orders and material requisitions.
• Maintain and update all system documentation relating to platform integrated process control and safety systems including ESD and F&G, subsea control system, telecom systems, management control and information management systems (i.e. PCS, PI)
• Ensure compliance with Verification Scheme requirements. Provide Site support for audits and inspections and assistance to address findings.
• Ensure planned maintenance routines are appropriate and make recommendations for change to maximise maintenance efficiency.
• Monitor SAP compliance.
• Monitor backlog relating to platform integrated process control and safety systems including ESD and F&G, subsea control system, telecom systems, management control and information management systems (i.e. PCS, PI). Highlight areas of concern and make recommendations to ensure backlog is managed in an effective manner.
