The Company:
Our client is an international exploration and production company with a particular focus on the Middle East region.

The Role:
Rotational role based in Kurdistan on a 30/28 rotation.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in control systems development/maintenance and operation as a Systems Engineer

Educated in a recognised university having Instrumentation & Controls degree in engineering

MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Performs all planned, corrective and campaign maintenance activities for control systems/PLCS/SCADA systems for the plant, wells and remote RTUs. Maintains, configures and troubleshoots the systems as applicable and manages interfaces with operations, engineering to ensure that plant integrity and safe operations are maintained. Reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
System Control Responsibilities and Planning
1. Directs all maintenance/project/enhancement activities at LPG recovery plant/wells and pipeline regarding the control systems and interfaces.
2. Leads a team of skilled technicians if applicable.
3. Conversant with power generation, gas turbines, centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, power generation and distribution systems and process control systems for the plant and associated infrastructures (wells, pipelines etc).
4. Leads ad-hoc teams of contract and vendor technicians for construction and maintenance work as required.
5. Ensures that plant and equipment is maintained according to compliance and integrity standards in order to meet expected reliability and ‘uptime’ Key Performance Indicators.
6. Liaises closely with Production Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams in activity planning, engineering change and cost control.
7. Ensures that procedures for the safe execution of tasks are in place and adhered to (including Task Instructions, Permits-to Work, Task Risk Assessments, and Toolbox Talks).
8. Ensures that all activities are accurately recorded in the maintenance management system, providing all necessary reports to the Operations support team.
9. Assists in recruiting, mentoring, training, and appraising maintenance personnel.
10. Participates in Emergency Response organization as required (this may include responsibilities in Search & Rescue and Fire Fighting).
Reporting and Communication
11. Reports to the Maintenance Superintendent on all issues relating own responsibilities.
12. Exhibits and maintains excellent working relationships with all company staff.

Continuous Improvement of Position
13. Conducts studies to identify areas for improving facilities s on a continuous basis in order to facilitate the operations. Recommends improvement actions and practices to senior management.
