Our Client is one of the world's largest Oil and Gas companies. Their operations cover the entire energy chain, including oil exploration and production to trading, shipping and refining and marketing of petroleum products, as well as chemicals. The Role:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensuring timely and accurate completion of allocated tax returns;
• Ensuring timely responses to HMRC enquiries;
• Ensuring accurate calculation of tax charges in quarterly and forecast reports;
• Ensuring compliance with SOX reporting controls.


MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Collection of information and initial preparation of Corporation Tax (CT) returns and Petroleum Revenue Tax (PRT) returns for our clients UK companies. Maintain evidence of SOX process controls for subsequent audit.
• Accurate preparation of relevant PRT or CT submissions ensuring compliance with reporting obligations. For CT this will include analysing figures in UK statutory accounts by running reports from SAP, liaising with other departments within the Finance department or other divisions to obtain additional information where required. Input information into OneSource CT software to produce CT computations and returns. For PRT, obtain production and sales details for PRT fields from relevant sources and prepare returns using Excel. Prepare expenditure claims in Excel using billing reports and information from SAP.
• Assist with review of quarterly/annual tax calculations and balances for allocated companies to ensure results are accurate and the review processes are SOX compliant.
• Assist in the process of reconciling PRT returns to CT returns and statutory accounts;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• Financial qualification at HNC or HND level;
• Experience of working in a finance department environment preferably within an Operator company;
• Some knowledge of upstream oil and gas operations would be desirable;
• Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel;
• Knowledge of SAP interrogation would be helpful;
• Experience of ONESOURCE (tax return software) would be desirable but not essential.
