The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen on a 12 month contract basis in Perth for a Team Leader - Environmental Project Support.

The Gorgon LNG Project is committed to delivering world class HES performance in design, construction and operation. This is a supervisory position in the Gorgon Downstream Integrated Environmental Team. This position plays a key role in supporting the development and implementation of a successful Health, Environmental, Safety, Security and Risk Management program within the Gorgon Project.

Key Job Responsibilities
• Leads and coordinates the Downstream Construction Support Environmental Management Team. Covering key project execution areas of contractor environmental management, marine and terrestrial infrastructure, environmental engineering design and compliance assurance.
• Responsible for overall D/S (Phase 4) Environmental Management System and coordinates provision of general support to BWI E&Q teams. Facilitate communication of issues between POC and BWI.
• Management of D/S construction related environmental commitments in Essential Suite. Oversight and support for environmental training and stewardship programs.
• Responsible for Downstream contractor environmental management, including review and approval of contractor documentation and correspondence, pre-mobilization vessel inspections, environmental support (including site inspections and environmental incident reporting & investigations for non BWI scopes (i.e. mainland facilities/ supply bases & marine logistics).
• Responsible for interface/ support to POC Engineering package managers and Commissioning and Start Up Execution Team (CSUET) for HAZOPS, risk reviews, ALARP demonstration, advice on EMP aspects/ Project commitments, assessment of MOCs (PCRs and trends) , design related environmental commitment verification, reviews of commissioning Test Procedures, data collection and waste management.
• Primary interface with Downstream Project team for primary approvals for compliance assurance and project changes. Support to Regulatory Approvals in reviewing regulatory submissions and engagement with regulators, as required. Authorship and general oversight of RO Brine Plan, SLWMP, TSEPP, TMCUP, FHCUP, WHCUP, MFCEMP MIS EMPs. Authorship and responsible for CO2 Pipeline Consent to Construct EMP.
• Responsible for implementation of Gorgon Downstream Construction Support level 5 audit program (internal and contractor) and preparation for and facilitation of other internal and external audits, as required.
• Allocate necessary corrective actions and facilitate any required changes to execution program methodologies with key stakeholders if required.
• Responsible for Gorgon Downstream environmental data management including data collection and reporting required under regulatory approvals (Part IV and V, OE, NPI and NGERS), monthly internal environmental reporting, data entry and QA/QC of all relevant events into Wildlife Database and Spills Database.
• Responsible for Gorgon Environment Tier 3 Transition Execution Plan (TEP), including maintenance of the Tier 3 TEP, tracking of outstanding transition actions, facilitation of transition workshops (i.e. to agree transition timings, strategies and acceptance criteria between all involved parties) and communication of transition issues and lessons learned.
• Oversight and responsible for Gorgon Downstream contractor environment consultant contracts (i.e. AECOM, ALS, ERM and KASA). Tracking of budget and spend. Review and sign off of CTRs.
• Responsible for Downstream Construction Support Environmental Management Team member’s recruitment and selection.
• Responsible to establish performance agreements and training requirements with team members (client and contractor), client team member’s performance mgmt. process and contractor team members parent company performance mgmt. processes.
• Responsible for tracking of resource requirements and updating manning plan as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum Qualifications: Environmental Science or Engineering Degree (or similar).
• Minimum of 8-10+ years relevant, practical experience in resource industry construction projects and/or operating facilities, including experience with working with EPCM contractors and subcontractors.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of environmental management systems and application within major facilities/construction site environments. Management system auditing experience is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Team leadership and personnel development experience.
• Practical working knowledge of relevant Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation is essential.
