The Role:
Clients Oil & Gas Subsea Systems is on a journey to transform its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM/PDM) processes, tools & IT solution to improve business efficiency, standardise products & processes, and improve cross-functional integration.
The Lead Solution Architect will lead the design & solution aspects of the implementation of PLM. The successful candidate will provide Teamcenter application expertise and leadership in the implementation and deployment of PLM Solutions globally across the Subsea Systems business. The solution will cover the following domains: product structuring & configuration (variants & options); parts & bill of material, classification, design process & CAD integration, requisition, change management, document management, scheduling, requirements management / systems engineering, configuration management, new product introduction, portfolio management, supplier and services collaboration, tech manual creation, quality management (non-conformance management) and integration with upstream and downstream tools & applications, such as ERP, Project Planning, CAD et al. Defining & managing the Data Migration & Cutover strategy & technical plan from the legacy PDM/PLM system is a significant part of the role.

The role will involve working with other PLM team members from O&G, PLM Vendor & third part contractors) to:
• Drive & own the various elements of the technological solution (Solution Specification) for PLM across various Subsea businesses.
• Gain deep understanding of business processes across Subsea businesses globally to design and develop a robust solution to meet business & functional requirements - support the implementation team by mapping end user requirements with Out-Of-The-Box functionality.
• Assist or lead in the definition of system solutions to functional problems, conforming to established system architecture standards and practices.
• Work as business partner with Process Leaders and users as well as PLM process architects & business analysts to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions.
• Deliver quality improvements and root-cause analysis for PLM related complex business problems and issues and work closely with delivery managers ensuring on-time execution of all deliverables.
• Participate in business process evaluation / improvement activities, requirements gathering, system analysis, system design, software / hardware applicability studies and system implementation, and execute projects based on these activities.
• Assist the Project Manager in the planning and effective application of technical elements of change and risk management principles to the project, where required.
• Provide advice on the problem-solving of strategic technical issues through to resolution, providing considered consultancy and viable solutions.
• Understand and take into consideration, risks, costs, benefits and possibilities offered by customization vs. configuration.
• Work with peers and other technology owners to create designs and application architecture standards that are reusable, efficient, scalable, and meet the needs of the business.
• Produce documented application frameworks or architectures.
• Ensure that specific IT implementation standards are incorporated in to the implementation activity from the start of the project, including standard means of documentation, use of applications, middleware and other system standards.
• Coordinate the consulting team's engagement and deliverables; drive outsourced supplier efforts as required; & manage contractors, estimate efforts, and schedules.
• Identify, scope, and lead business/site readiness projects to prepare for the PLM rollout
• Co-ordinate and oversee user acceptance testing based on the functional and non-functional specifications.
• Generate documentation on technical best practices and other technical assets for reuse.
• Generate, or provide input into the creation of, technical and functional specifications and align these with the Delivery Methodology templates.
• Provide accurate and timely information to management team as required
• Maintain effective working relationships with peers and vendors to seamlessly integrate the program area into the overall strategic objectives and activities of the organization.
• Lead in the evaluation / benchmarking of third party software solutions.
• Keep the key stakeholders of the implementation, in , fully informed of key issues on a regular basis
• Understand & drive all projects implementations following as appropriate ALM/dPMM/Tollgate and Agile/SCRUM process.
• Ensure the IT governance process is followed and coordinate all deliverables with appropriate shared service teams.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 10 years of experience working on enterprise level PLM implementations (design, develop & deploy) - must have done large end to end implementation of Teamcenter and can bring best practices to the table. Exposure to customization and configuration experience in Teamcenter.
• Strong background/experience in Engineering and/or Manufacturing functions with Teamcenter Solution experience in most of the following: product structuring & configuration (variants & options); parts & bill of material, classification, design process & CAD integration, requisition, change management, document management, scheduling, requirements management / systems engineering, configuration management, new product introduction, portfolio management, supplier and services collaboration, tech manual creation, quality management (non-conformance management) and integration with upstream and downstream tools & applications, such as ERP (e.g., Oracle), Project Planning (e.g., Primavera), CAD (e.g., CREO) et al.
• Solid experience in ‘brown field’ PLM implementations involving complex / significant data migration and cutover activities.
• Knowledge of current information technologies related to Teamcenter PLM, Java, Web, and Unix Server environments
• Working knowledge of application servers, J2EE, Oracle, Unix O / S, Linux, Siteminder, LDAP, SOA, messaging, and physical architectures.
• Working knowledge of AWS – Active Work Space – new Teamcenter interface based on HTML5, CSS3, and Google Web toolkit
• Have knowledge of ITK customization or Portal customization.
• Product knowledge across modules and Teamcenter roadmap.
• Knowledge of BMIDE is essential.
• Ability to quickly configure and conduct business demos and define requirements and data model.
• Knowledge of SDLC processes, estimation and risk identification & mitigation.
• Experience of working in projects following an Agile/SCRUM implementation approach.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal), analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven abilities to communicate complex topics to leaders and peers in a simple, clear, plan oriented manner
• Established project management, analytical, and problem resolution skills
• Ability to work in cross functional team environment
• Demonstrated work in Matrix Organizations
• Must possess strong proficiency in MS-Office 2010 package
• Be willing to travel globally.

• Working knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Java, ITK, PLMXML, XML, XSTL, C, C++, would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Lean product development, Six Sigma and certification in CMII are desired
• Experience with Siemens Teamcenter Manufacturing, Technomatix, VSA, & Systems Engineering
• The candidate should be a good team player with excellent verbal & written communication, especially explaining complex concepts through presentations and other visual demonstrators.
• Be able to deal with ambiguity

• Strong proficiency in MS-Office 2010 package
