The UK's Largest Hazardous Waste Management Company. Offering hazardous waste collection, recovery, recycling, treatment and disposal services.

The Role:
Main purpose of job:

To assist with the management of the processes involved in the control of radioactive inputs onto site, processing and storage of waste under authorisation from the Environment Agency and to generate a profitable revenue stream.

• Radiation Protection Supervisor.
• Assist with radioactive authorisation compliance including preparing authorisation returns.
• Issue and maintain ‘Letters of Intent’.
• Review new and existing authorisations.
• Carry out capability review of radioactive enquiries.
• Provide quotes for radioactive wastes for disposal at the Fawley site and also wastes that are being disposed of at alternative sites-‘direct no transfers’ .
• Assist with booking radioactive waste in compliance with RSA authorisation.
• Book transport and raise transport documents and labels for incoming consignments.
• Check radioactive wastes on receipt at Fawley site as required.
• Assist with programming radioactive waste for incineration and maintain disposal records.
• Issue invoices & destruction certificates for radioactive wastes.
• Liaise with Business Manager/RPS on all aspects of radiological business.
• Assist with internal and external Duty of Care audits.
• Assist with customer/stakeholder visits as required.
• Assist where necessary with general waste enquiries for the Fawley site.

Internal Relations: Customer Administration Services, Site Chemists, Account Managers, Plant personnel

External Relations: Heath Protection Agency, Environment Agency & Customers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in chemistry or related subject
• Computer literate
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good communicator
• Aware for the need of discretion & confidentiality
• Be able to work under specified and agreed time constraints

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Radiation Protection knowledge
