We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for a technical support engineer. Their main focus is the supply of pumps to the Oil and Gas industry. The ideal candidate would be from a mechanical background and have experience with mechanical handling equipment, rotating equipment.

My client

We are recruiting on behalf of our client who are looking for a customer support manager, ideally candidate would be from a mechanical background, someone who has experience with mechanical handling equipment, rotating equipment. Would also consider candidate who are either Production Manager, Project Manager, Workshop Manager and Engineering backgrounds.

As a Technical Support Engineer your main duties will involve:

• Determine repair work scopes and compile inspection report including work instructions including immediate failure analysis.
• Compile Materials and Service requisitions as required, ensuring all relevant quality standards are applied
• Develop job specific quality plans for repair and retrofit projects and subsequent tracking of quality activities within the production cycle (from receipt of raw materials to final testing and despatch).
• Update Equipment History record system to ensure traceability of equipment and upgrades as required.
• Perform Quality Control functions as required including witness checks and verification that the defined requirements are met.
• Liaise with sub-contractors/suppliers where appropriate to ensure job requirements are clearly conveyed.
• Ensure that all records are fully updated after completion of work.
• Ensure that any modification is reviewed by the Technical Quality Supervisor and is properly controlled and documented.
• Participate in team training and development events.
• Identify areas of improvement to reduce the cost to the company whilst maintaining quality of service and product.
• Support the company in its drive to create a better, more productive and safer working environment
• Embrace the Lean operating principles and seek to apply these in the work place
• Apply 5S principles to improve safety and working methods

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• NC/City & Guilds Mechanical Qualification
OR
• VQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification
