The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The role is to support the procurement of prototype material for the AJ200 Diesel Base Engine Programme. Activities may include, but will not be limited to:- > Liaising with Component Engineers to ensure prototype cost estimates are requested on time and are available on time to support order placement. > Liaising with Programme Management, Finance, and Purchase to ensure the timely sign off of prototype material orders. > Liaising with prototype parts suppliers to ensure they have correctly received and understood our order requirements. > Obtaining supplier delivery commitments from our prototype suppliers and liaising with them regularly throughout the component lead times to ensure the suppliers are still on track to deliver on time. At the scheduled supply date to chase suppliers as necessary to ensure the parts are delivered to the client > Generation and presentation of suitable metrics to the Programme Manager at regular intervals to show the status of the procurement activity and highlight areas where management intervention is required."

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
This is a challenging role key to ensuring that the programme's prototype procurement runs on time to support our overall programme timing requirements. Key skills will be:- > Self motivated with the drive to get on and get the job done with minimal supervision. > Good communication skills, both on the phone and in writing, to ensure clear information is both given to and received from the supply industry. > High levels of personal organisation, record keeping, and analysis to keep track of high numbers of parts orders. > Good desktop Pc skills (e.g. excel, email etc) to support communication with the supply industry and internal data preparation."

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Due to the multi-national nature of our supply base, some foreign language skills might be useful. Some knowledge of engine components would be of benefit. 1 or 2 years previous experience in an office environment. Experience of dealing with external suppliers and chasing them to ensure parts are delivered
