Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

Position Description:
VP Scheduling - Scheduling Planner role Purpose To ensure the success of VP prototype schedule planning key activities related to Schedule Creation & Maintenance to support VP Build as detailed for their designated programmes. Manage all associated VP prototypes to ensure each build phase is planned for and executed successfully in support of development plan. Content Scope will cover all VP prototype scheduling activities including liaising with BIW, Paint, Trim and Final, Powertrain Manufacturing, Rig Test Vehicle Engineering & Pilot Build Teams. Represent Pilot Build within the programme team at all relevant meetings i.e. VP Planning, PST, Timing, PAT's etc. Responsible for communication to / from the project team and is authorised to make decisions on behalf of the department within scope. Seek guidance with peers or management on issues that they cannot confidently answer. Provide a Daily status for the programme team / schedule co-coordinators containing all pertinent information to produce night letter. Define specific delivery milestones for each VP build phase and obtain concurrence from Programme team. Milestone plan will track progress, including sign off of key documents (such as development plan, OxO Chart, SDV Matrix vehicle specification, timing plan, release schedule, etc.) Create Validate & maintain VP Parts Bill of material Schedules ensuring Spec & WERS align with OXO / SDV Matrix using current Prototype Scheduling Program (Currently GPIRS). Plan & Lead VP BOM Validation ensuring that Releases are made for VP effective point whether prototype or production level parts are intended for VP Build, ensure minimal Manual BOM Intervention is carried out. (Should be the exception).

Skills Required:
Candidate should have Programme Management Skill set, automotive working methodologies understanding, timing, release, launch and build activities. Have capability to drive & motivate the team to achieve results Continually Implement process Improvements Be determined to achieve deadlines & be pro-active in anticipating & preventing any build stopping issues whilst ensuring that product quality is not affected. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels. The ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision when necessary to deliver key objectives. Understanding of vehicle programme delivery processes & procedures. High degree of inter-personal skills. A full driving licence. Highly motivated self starter who can work to tight deadlines. Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Skills Preferred:
Use CAD data / Digital buck to assist with identifying parts / assemblies in BOM Validation Sessions. Use Web Based Investigation / Data Down load tools to aid Engineers with resolving issues relating to usage. Use Excel spreadsheets to record status of BOM & use V-Look Up and Pivot Tables / tools within excel to cross validate spread sheets. Create & Develop Master ProFormas / look up sheet masters to enable future simple analysis to be carried out by other planners. Download Latest BOM daily and save to relevant shared area so that Engineers can review latest Data. Effectively plan resource and facilities for scheduling activities, in discussion with the other project planners, to ensure build will be achieved on time in support of the development or launch plan. Plan and drive Spec and BOM Validation events. Maintain / provide inputs to Workload Plan / VP Schedule Status for all proposed & Current VP vehicle build activities for planning purposes.

Experience Required:
Automotive Previous programme management / planning / Excellent Excel spreadsheet & Data management Skills including VLook up & Pivot Tables. A Full Driving Licence is also required as there is a need to attend different sites on a day to day basis.

Experience Preferred:
Good working knowledge of automotive systems & Processes - with specific reference to GPIRS, AIMS, APTWERS, GPDS & Release.

Education Required:
Degree / Relevant automotive experience.

Candidate will be required to work at other sites as requested as own transport to be used at own cost & able to be flexible with working arrangements including shifts & overtime where required.
