The Role:
PTO Finance is responsible for the financial control of investment in Engines and Transmissions manufactured within Europe.
This includes the development, control and reporting of Engine and Transmission programs to the Program Managers, Vehicle Line Teams, Senior Management and external parties.
This position requires the individual to work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Purchasing to ensure a thorough understanding and control of Investment and Contribution Costs.
The position will interact with future FOE vehicle programs and many other global programs.
The individual may also work with Getrag Ford Transmissions, PSA (Fords Diesel partner), Volvo or Jaguar Land Rover.
This is a good opportunity for someone looking to extend their finance experience into a role which influences and supports strategic investment decisions.
It will also build the candidates awareness of the cost drivers currently impacting vehicles and will give insight into how Ford manages its relationships with suppliers.
The individual will also build a greater understanding of current and future Engine and Transmission technology.
Key responsibilities include:-
- Coordinate and control Material Cost, Freight Cost and Investment for forward model programs.
- Preparation and presentation of robust financials and targets in papers for Senior Management.
- Alignment with vehicle teams to ensure consistency of powertrain and vehicle assumptions.
- Coordination and completion of quarterly status reports for senior management reviews.
- Provision of financial analysis for special studies including sourcing decisions and benchmarking.
- Product development activities including component changes, projects and TARR calculations.
- Business Plans, Budgets and Forecasts
- Accounting activities including Accruals and Contingent Liability Reporting.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Foster Functional & Technical Excellence
Strong analytical skills
Excellent abilities with Microsoft Office, in particular the ability to maintain & control complex spreadsheets within Excel
A prior knowledge of PD systems (WERS, COIN, WIPS) and processes would be an advantage (but not essential)
A degree and / or accounting qualification would be an advantage (but not essential) Own Working Together
Financial Analysis, Engineering and/or Manufacturing
Good team-working ability working with all levels of the organisation
Able to give a Finance viewpoint to operational teams working to their own deadline & target pressures
Able to present findings to more senior levels within the Company, assisting the business in meeting operational goals, whilst showing courage and ensuring that decisions are taken on the basis of data which is transparent and defendable
Shows initiative and able to operate independently on key Finance tasks where required Deliver Results

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience with an automotive manufacturer or supplier would naturally suit this role.
