The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Test Engineer - Outsourced Engine, Transmissions and Driveline Testing, Vehicle Emissions and Hybrid System testing.
This position is responsible for the organisation and delivery of testing which is outsourced to external suppliers. Primary duties include;
Work with customers to understand work requirements and to generate a Request for Quotation (FRQ) package.
Distribute RFQ to suitable suppliers and coordinate responses to support decision making process.
Engage with customers and all other stakeholders to make supplier selections.
Raise financial approvals and progress through internal systems to ensure timely and robust authorisation.
Liaise with nominated suppliers to ensure timely information exchange and procurement of any special test requirements. e.g. special fuels/test equipment.
Maintain in house documentation to ensure test status is visible to all stakeholders.
Support daily cross functional test planning meetings
Maintain budget summary status with details of all completed work, committed spend and known planned work in readiness for management review.
Arrange procurement and delivery of special fuels/oils and any other client supplied test resources o Maintain Catalyst Ageing status register to support internal customer groups
Day to day progress chasing and liaison across groups. Ie single point of contact for suppliers and test engineers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills; Knowledge of dynamometer testing on prototype engines. Operating experience in a commercial environment. Proven ability to achieve results in an efficient manner, making efficient use of all resources available both internal and external.
Experience of project management and or MS project Experience of working within client systems. Knowledge of dynamometer testing on transmissions and driveline. Advanced MS office and particularly excel programming experience. Knowledge of H&S requirements associated with dyno engine testing.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
3 yrs. minimum working in a dynamometer test environment. Demonstrable experience of collating various customer requirements into a concise set of project deliverables. Demonstrable experience of communication at all levels on complex technical or financial topics. Experience of maintaining budget status information. Comprehensive experience in MS office packages Degree or equivalent in an engineering or business discipline.
