Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
Job Title: Health/IH Team Assistant (or Administrator/Coordinator)

Role Synopsis:
Provides administrative support to the Health/Industrial Hygiene Manager, Medical Advisor and the Anchorage and North Slope based Health/Industrial Hygiene team. May assist Health & Safety Director and broader team in the absence of the Health & Safety Team Assistant.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Knowledge and background in health education or health promotion, and have the capability of teaching health related classes. Knowledge of basic medical terminology helpful.
2. Following certification, conducts basic ergonomic assessments and follow up evaluations through to case closure.
3. Following certification, may teach soft tissue injury prevention classes (BackLogic, Safety in Motion etc.)
4. Interface with contractor’s North Slope medical staff, worker’s compensation adjuster, medical case management nurses, and company’s HR staff with both occupational injury and illnesses (OIs) as well as non-occupational injuries and illness (NOIs).
5. Responsible for tracking Company's standard threshold shift cases to include timely coordination of all appointments with the ENT and audiologist as well as documentation with North Slope IH staff and distribution of confirmation letters to the team leaders and H&S team leaders.
6. Responsible for monthly procurement card reconciliation for Health/IH Team Leader.
7. Assists Medical Advisor with medical case management documentation and attends monthly meeting with vendor. Become familiar with vendor’s CareMC case management database.
8. Responsible for setting up the annual influenza vaccination program for Anchorage based personnel as well as facilitating influenza program communications for Company’s North Slope Medical Clinics.
9. Facilitates Health/IH Team travel needs to the North Slope and out of Alaska for Company business as well as manifest personnel with Shared Services Aviation.
10. Responsible for transferring in/out of medical records to the appropriate medical clinic in other Company regions as employees relocate in or out of Alaska. Includes archival of medical records.
11. May assist Health Promotion Specialist with special events such as health fairs, biometric screenings, fee-for-service class registration for the Anchorage Health & Fitness Center.
12. Coordinates Badge Request Authorizations and new hire orientation program for all Health/IH employee and contractor staff.
13. Assists with distribution of annual Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) award letters.
14. Maintains and works with confidential medical information on company’s employees.
15. Update the HSE Performance Boards monthly for Anchorage and North Slope locations.
16. Routine administrative functions such as ordering office supplies through Staples, drug testing forms and kits from certified laboratories etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Discipline or Science, Health Education or Biology
• First Aid/CPR Certifications
• Willing to travel to Company North Slope Operations as needed. (?10% of time)
• Very proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and database management (Occupational Health Manager and or MedGate), Visio, and technical competency to learn Insight (medical record archiving) Company’s Tr@ction system, EVE sharepoint site, Adobe etc.
