The Role:
The Technical Assistant role is part of the Operate BDU Technical Team and is accountable for providing support to both the Technical Team. Including data management, report generation and presentation preparation.

The role is primarily associated with the management of maintenance & engineering data and consolidation of information into concise reports.

• Direct report to the UKU Operate Technical Manager
• The position has no direct reports

Key Accountabilities
• Attend regular technical meetings and manage the team action log.
• Provide data management support to the Technical team.
• Input of data into databases and spreadsheets.
• Manipulation of data to enable ad-hoc reports to be generated in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Create PowerPoint presentations to convey key messages.
• Assist with administration & tracking of service requisitions.
• Maintain the tracker for the Technical Team.
• Compile monthly Technical Team report.
• Assist with administration of Management of Change system.
• Assist with setting up VC meeting and manage IT interface.
• Assist with administration of documents on Network drive & Documentum.
• Organise Operations Group Workshops and liaison meetings as defined.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The job holder should have some experience of how the energy industry works.
• Advanced Microsoft Office is required, whist MS Access and Project Manager are desirable.
• Document management experience is desirable.
• Technical background is preferable but not essential, as is a basic understanding of the hydrocarbon industry.
• Strong numerical and literacy skills.
• Excellent Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills.
• Systematic and methodical approach.
• Good teamwork and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Enthusiasm and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Self motivation and initiative.
• Ability to process large amounts of data from different sources.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to exercise judgement, initiative and independence.
• Ability to operating in a fast past environment and multitask.
• Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrated reliability.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
