The Company:
My Energy provides energy insight to customers and helps them understand their energy bill. This product currently serves 3.5 million people within the UK. They are starting to look at whitelabelling the My Energy application and sell that to other countries and utility suppliers, outside of the UK. To do this we need to document the API's, email component and file ingestion components so that new customers are able to plug their data into our platform.

The Role:
As the successful candidate you will have: 
A proven track record as a technical author writing for global audiences. 

Documentation that is targeted towards technology people (not just end users). 

An understanding and experience in documenting IT systems

Interface specifications

Interface protocols and data structures, e.g. JSON, XML, CSV, Messaging o Rest APIs o Business processes o IT Product installation notes o Product Release Notes 

Knowledge of tools required to document IT architecture diagrams, xml and json. 

The ability to work with engineers and interpret source information supplied by them and transform it in to documentation that is easily understandable by other engineers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A real appetite and enthusiasm for new technology and developing new skills. 

A demonstrable interest in maintaining rigour and precision while producing and editing highly- specialised technical material. 

The ability to work with minimal supervision and be a self starter. 

Good documentation planning and basic project management abilities. 

Good organisational and interpersonal skills to manage the flow of information from contributors and reviewers. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

An understanding of the interaction between software and hardware. 

An understanding of the documentation life cycle.
