The Company:
Our client is an operator in the Oil & Gas industry

The Role:
There is a pressing need to rationalise and simplify documentation associated with the transfer of a major project and the Technical Author resource is required to assist document owners in simplifying and re-writing high priority documents in a timely manner. Working from the document priority list, the TA will separate the Procedure and Standards elements from Guidance and where practicable process map/flow chart the procedure before issuing to the document owner for review. The TA will also track progress on individual documents and provide a monthly update. Currently the QSSHE department has two open positions; Team Leader & Safety Engineer, and the workload has been shared by team members, the TA position will provide a dedicated resource, albeit on a temporary basis, to assist document holders in reviewing procedures & standards and revising them to a common format.

Key Tasks:

Working from the document priority list, the TA will separate the procedural and standards elements from the documents.
Where practicable Process Map/Flow Chart the procedures.
Issue the documents to the document owner for review and amendment.
On receipt of the revised document, the TA will format it to the agreed standard before issuing to the reviewers.
Track the progress of documents being reviewed and provide weekly progress updates for the QA/QC specialist & the Leadership Team.
Liaise with the MOC and Document Controller in the review and issuing of the new documents.
Assist in arranging and co-ordinating training in the new procedures with the document owners.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Management systems.
Procedure writing.
Process mapping.
Flow charting.
Process plant operational or engineering experience.
Microsoft Office.

Numerate and literate.
Ability to present information in a clear & concise manner.
Process plant operational &/or engineering experience.
Experience in the preparation of operating procedures and supporting documentation.
Experience in process mapping &/or flow charting.
