The Company:
Our Company is a powerful new oil & gas production and development company, has been formed from the demerged North Sea interests of joint venture. Our company assets have been contributed by both firms on a debt free basis. We are a focused independent company.

The Role:
• Company Technical Safety focal point.
• Participate in maintaining a set of corporate Technical Safety standards and guidelines to provide a basis for assuring the technical quality of deliverables.
• Overview of and support to Duty Holder.
• Provision of Technical Safety guidance to company Capital Projects.
• Participating in concept design and selection studies for field developments.
• Managing support contractors or internal employees in the delivery of technical safety studies and reviews.
• Provide Technical Safety input to projects and new business developments.
• Support development teams on converting the engineering concept from field development plans into project specifications etc.
• Support project teams during project execution with discipline reviews, troubleshooting, HAZOP, audits etc.
• Assisting in evaluation of potential acquisitions and new ventures.
• Supporting the Asset teams in the provision of advice in enhancing operating practice.
• Business Process Awareness (SMS/MOC/Document Control/ Maintenance/Work Control/Procurement).
• Ensuring best practice and learning is transferred in and out of the organisation.
• Technical endorsement of modification proposals.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Can demonstrate the ability to apply creative thinking and to problem solve effectively.
• Extensive experience of Technical Safety engineering in a Facilities/Developments Engineering environment.
• A detailed knowledge and application of UK safety case legislation and relevant statutory provisions.
• Extensive knowledge of major hazard management, SCEs and Performance Standards.
• Principles and use of QRA.
• Experience of a client/operator environment and knowledge of the safety, environmental and operational aspects of their work.
• Problem solving & analysis and decision making (Within own recognised boundaries).
• Knowledge of process design safety though application of inherently safe design and international standards relating to layers of protection, pressure protection, relief & depressurising systems and instrumented protection systems.
• Bachelors degree in a technical discipline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• MIST and RGIT BOSIET Training.
