The Role:
Technical Engineering Manager reports through to Project Engineering Manager and is responsible managing technical engineering input throughout the execution phase of the Project, managing a team of 8 Engineers of various disciplines.

This team is required to review and comment on engineering deliverables developed by the Projects Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contactor, ensuring that the contractor deliverables meet codes, regulations and technical standards set by the Company.

The ultimate objective of this role is to ensure the design of the facility meets functional requirements an incorporates Process Safety, Human Factors, Operability, Maintainability and Reliability requirements.

This team takes ownership of engineering design inputs such as the Basis of Design, Basic Engineering Data and Local Addenda to Company Standards. The team also reviews and provides answers to ‘Requests for Information’ from the EPC Contractor and manages all documentation for developing Technical Deviation to Company Specification if and when required.

Provides input to the Technical Committee meetings and ensures team is resources with adequate capability.

Coordinates technical input and alignment from key stakeholders in the refinery such as Operations, Maintenance, Inspection/ Reliability and draws on external Subject Matter Experts from shareholder organization

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering Qualifications (preferably Electrical)
• >15 years experience, downstream, refining in FEED and Detailed Design for Owner or EPC Contractor
• Preferably experience with Chevron Engineering Standards and guidelines (CES, SID Process Safety)
• Experience interfacing with refinery stakeholder (Ops, Mtc etc) and demonstrated ability to manage high quality decisions.
