The Company:
Our client is a global operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
Reporting to the Base Manager the Technical Facilities Manager has accountability for the technical life support aspects of the base and outlying sites. Overseeing the Life Support Contractor's team of maintenance technicians/engineers completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance throughout the Sites. Responsible for the day to day technical operations, maintenance and minor new works and ensuring the maintenance teams upkeep the highest standards of workmanship and equipment availability in support of operations and business continuity.

Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Ensure all infrastructure is maintained and inspected by the life support contractor in accordance with Maintenance Schedules and Best Industry Standards.
• Organise, schedule and supervise contractor works required on site in support of maintenance and minor new works tasks.
• Provide advise and assistance in the planning and organizing of contractor daily maintenance tasks. Monitor progress, quality and completion of tasks.
• Prepare reports, analyse data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations, reliability and solving maintenance-related problems.
• Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions, feed into annual departmental plans.
• Maintain and update maintenance records, drawings both electronically and written.
• Produce weekly reports on maintenance tasks and minor new works progress and issues.
• Manage and administer the technicians ensuring their welfare and working environment is both safe and healthy.
• Implement and manage SLA’s with contractors and suppliers, report on performance
• Complete requisitions and orders for spare parts and replacement equipment as required for approval.
• Manage and supervise all maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and best practice.
• Liaise with the other Maintenance managers to share information, coordinate resources and assist other sites and locations as required.
• Plan & complete reports for minor new works projects providing estimated costs, schedules and materials list.
• Manage spare parts stocks to ensure availability of critical plant and equipment is not at risk.
• Arrange contractor access to site and conduct health and safety briefings, ensure full compliance of the contractor with regards correct use of tools, equipment, health and safety.
• Liaise with site staff and contractors to ensure expectations are met and maintained to a high standard.
• Organising routine servicing schedules.
• Carrying out quality inspections and contractor audits on completed works and maintenance records.
• Ensure sufficient tools, maintenance materials and spare parts are held by the contractors to enable prompt and efficient service to the client.
• Complete and submit requisitions for materials and spare part as required.
• Responding immediately to equipment breakdowns.
• Arranging for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed on site.
• Keeping Base Managers informed of progress, issues and daily operations.
• Organising teams or individuals to make sure that 24-hour cover is available.
• Conduct appraisals and staff reports, identify and plan staff training in accordance with Human Resources guidelines.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates must have recent site facilities and operations maintenance management or facilities management experience. Suitably experienced mechanical and electrical technicians/engineers may be considered for the position.

• Formal professional qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering or considerable experience in similar roles.
• Diesel generator fault diagnosis and repair qualifications. (CAT, Cummins, FG Wilson etc).
• Experience in managing the repair and maintenance of the following:
o Electrical generation and low voltage distribution systems.
o Ventilation and air conditioning.
o High performance diesel fuel generators, engines and associated fuel storage and distribution plant.
o Mechanical and electrical building services systems and equipment.
• Experience and knowledge of managing health and safety rules and regulations in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use MS Word, Excel,

• Able to communicate both verbally and in written English language at all levels.
• Driving licence.

• The ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• The ability and confidence to enforce and maintain a high standard of health and safety legislation.
• The initiative to work on your own or as part of a team.
• Healthy and active.
• The ability to manage a varied workload.
• Flexibility and ability to work as part of the larger Base Management Team to ensure continued operations and business continuity.

The role requires a strong communicator with smart appearance, excellent written and verbal English and basic language skills with ability to command the respect of his team.
