The Company:
Our Client is involved in the international development and exploration of oil and natural gas, as well as managing gas and power, refining/petrochemicals and other midstream/downstream activities.

The Role:
Principal Accountabilities:
* The candidate must have the vision of a Refining Business Complex head with leadership qualities to drive Operations Excellence program independently rather than as coordinator.
* Should have working experience in an international Oil Companies with good exposure to world refining scenarios. The following are some of the requisites:
* Should have good concept and vision about Refining business with Leadership and interpersonal skills to create an effective working environment in a well diverse multi-cultural team.
* Thorough understanding of Refining Technologies and procedures & systems followed in refining industry and essential knowledge of Industrial International Codes and Standards.
* Should be expert in Refining Economics and Operations Excellence.
* Ability to manage and execute change, address conflicts and implement strategies and motivational techniques.
* Solving corporate issues raised by other Directorates/Departments such as Marketing, Corporate Planning, New Ventures, major issues between Departments within Refining Directorate.
* Coordinate with Refinery Department Managers on management improvement initiatives.
* Efforts to improve Refinery performance.

Primary Purpose of the Job
* Provide a high level of specialist advice and support to the Refining Directorate and Refinery Departments/Project Managers to facilitate resolution of major Refining Directorate issues.
* Provide specialist advice to Refining Directorate, Refining Department Managers and, when required, to Senior Management on a broad spectrum of issues across the hydrocarbon industry including processing, transportation, storage. export, product quality, economic trends, commercial developments and technological improvements.
* Coordinate and facilitate discussion between the Refinery Directorate and other Departments I Directorates to resolve any major issues on both projects and operating facilities.
* Review project proposals related to the Refinery Directorate; examine from both a technical and an economic perspective; provide comments, recommendations and (when warranted) alternatives for further development.
* Participate in discussions on major feasibility studies, concept optimization and project Front End Design discussions to advise on both technical and economic aspects.
* Participate in discussions on Budget, Business Plan and Corporate Performance Reviews. Address issues arising therein from other directoratesIdepartments. Follow- up and coordinate responses to resolve these issues.
* Participate and facilitate as needed in efforts to monitor and improve Refinery performance, including the formation and development of cross functional teams.
* Anticipate technology needs and opportunities and maintain current knowledge of the "state of the art" on process technology through journals, publications, discussions with process licensors and vendor representatives and attending conferences and seminars.
* Stay up-to-date with commercial and economic trends in the refining business.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* PG in Business Management/Chemical Engineering/Operations Management
* A minimum of 20 years multi-discipline experience and exposure in progressively managing roles or equivalent to Operations and Technical expertise in Refining.
* Fluent in English for both written and oral communication.
* An effective communicator, able to solve complex problems effectively and tactfully by building consensus and resolving conflicts.
* Fully computer literate with proven skills in relevant software.
* Preferable to have knowledge of QP operating facilities, joint venture companies, and business needs.
* Contact: The job requires frequent contact at different levels to gather information from different functional groups and to build consensus and arrive at recommendations. Contact may be within the Refining Directorate or with other directorates. Joint ventures. subsidiaries. outside consultants. licensors and representatives.
* Problem Solving: Assists in providing information and necessary documentations to the Directorate to solve the business related problems. This includes good document control. good house-keeping and presence of mind.
* Decision Accountability: Advice and recommendations have a potential to impact on the business decisions of QP Refining Directorate and subsidiary expansions. All advice and recommendations on major issues are passed through and under the direction of Director Refining.
* Independence: Formulates own work strategies and exercises considerable discretion to meet the assigned tasks and goals. Keeps the Director Refining advised and receives direction from him.
