The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Deliver the best in class CAE engineering solutions for all Company products.
This lead role is responsible and accountable for directing all aspects of the CAE development of Exterior and Interior systems in line with the Company's product, quality and financial targets satisfying group objectives and 2018 vision.
To generate technical proposals, decisions and analysis from concept to legislative sign off for all products in the cycle plan. With close collaboration of all internal and group partners to ensure cross functional approval and needs of the end customer.

Key Responsibilities
1. Support CAE technical strategy for Interior and Exterior to enable the business to consistently satisfy customers current and future product expectations, meeting;
Technical targets, associated attributes, core competences.
Financial framework and targets
Legal, safety and environmental guidelines

2. Accountable for effective technical project management to achieve annual objectives including;
Technical feasible solutions for project content
Feature definition aligned to customer expectations
Adherence to PEP deliverables and timing following the ENG005 and PEP process and policy.
Accountable for all CAE aspects of projects delivered to cost, quality and time

3. Lead and guide supplier team's activities including
Engagement and motivation to get the best team engagement
Resource management both internal and external;
People skills development and succession planning

4. Ensure product and CAE method development is aligned with Group strategy and module baukasten requirements, to support business cases of all projects, establishing strong relationships with group counterparts.

5. Provide associated recommendations and contribute to decision making business decision forums, Product Day, Styling Reviews to enable effective decision making based ons sound evidence and cross functional agreement.

Engineering Honours degree in Automotive, Mechanical or equivalent engineering
Member of Professional Institution

Previous Experience
Demonstrable experience in delivering CAE Engineering component and system solutions from Concept to SoP in an Automotive OEM or 1st tier development supplier.
Evidence of strong people supplier skills in a variety of situations associated with product delivery in Group
Strong record of ability to deal with conflicting targets and achieve successful delivery to quality, cost and time.

Practical & Technical Knowledge
Clear precise knowledge of;
Cycle plan and competitor analysis
All associated systems and processes linked to product development
A proven knowledge of CAE systems and technical workings for BIW, Interior and Exterior systems
All required sign off legislative and environmental requirements
Demonstrable concept to detailed design problem solving skills
Ability to lead and motivate complex teams to aligned goals
