A Global Specialty Materials business is a leading provider of high performance specialty materials that are found in almost all items of daily life

The Role:
Currently looking for a Technical Manager that has experience of working in the Adhesives, Inks or Coatings industry. This can be a home based role but there will be extensive travel through out the EMEA to interface with customers and the global technology team.

As a Technical Manager– Adhesives, Inks, Coatings your main duties will involve:
• As Technical Manager you will understand the needs of (Surface & Rheology Modifiers) S&RM customers in EMEA and, in collaboration with the global S&RM technology team, design experimentation which demonstrates how company products can help meet those needs.
• Own and drive the execution of experimental programs, whether conducted internally or at external labs.
• Coordinate and oversee customer trials involving use of company products.
• In conjunction with the Commercial team, participate in customer visits aimed at identification of unmet needs.
• Using general industry knowledge, along with specific identified customer needs, participate in development of overall strategy to penetrate target S&RM markets.
• Use awareness of market trends to help develop business strategy.
• Become familiar with other key Company products and applications beyond S&RM.
• Be the “go to” technical expert of the EMEA organization.
• Lead new product development (NPD) projects, as required.
• Be the interface between the EMEA and the global Additives Technology organization.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As a Technical Manager– Adhesives, Inks, Coatings you will have experience:
• Minimum BS Degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or closely related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Strong experience working in the Adhesives, Inks or Coatings industry. Experience in Adhesives generally and specifically water-based preferred.
• Self-directed technologist capable of designing own work plan as part of larger program.
• Experience interfacing directly with customers, including trials in customers' facility.
• Comfortable working independently and influencing other to execute programs.
• Good project management skills.
• Ability to interface cross-functionally as part of larger team.
• Ability to assemble, analyze and present results/conclusions internally and externally.
