The Role:
My client is looking for someone knowledgeable in upstream oil and gas producing environments (ie asset management, asset reporting, exploration and development planning).


The incumbent will be responsible for:

a) Consolidation of the technical information underpinning the clients Business plan, including QA.
b) Supporting the:
a. Technical Manager (who also double hats as Deputy General Manager Petroleum Engineering)
b. Chief Reservoir Engineer in HRVMS and related processes.
c. Project Manager for clients light tight oil and tight gas opportunities.
d. Country chair/clients MD in business planning and technical aspects
e. Decision Executives for various JVs client operates, in particular assist in preparation for TCMs and OCMs
c) Participate in reviews and healthchecks (e.g., hydrocarbon maturation healthcheck, discipline healthcheck)
d) Development of a national graduate in (technical) business planning
e) Provide peer review, coaching, and field development planning input where required
f) Technical interface with government and UIM as required.
g) Assist in monitoring performance against the business plan
h) Participate in regional activities as required.
i) Preparation of measures to monitor and track business performance

This is a relatively small and flat organisation and the Technical / Development Planner is therefore in a unique position to work closely with senior technical, exploration, commercial, finance and general managers in both of our clients. The position therefore has unique development aspects allowing the individual to broaden as well as contribute in a very visible manner.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Seasoned professional with sound background in either petroleum engineering, geosciences, or facilities engineering. Other disciplines will also be considered dependent upon the background and capabilities of the individual.

Interpersonal skills and sensitivity to cultural differences are extremely important;
o Good analysis and all-round communication skills in an environment where influencing is key.
o Demonstrated commitment to staff development and mentoring in a multi-cultural environment;
o Ability to effectively communicate across disciplines within the development, operations, and production functions as well as partners;

Personal drive, ability to cope with high workload peaks, good at priority setting, self-starter, and willingness to work against tight deadlines;
Skills in petroleum economics is a plus, but not required;
Familiar with DCAF, RtL, ORP, HRVMS and related activities.
Affinity and aptitude for planning related work activities
