The Role:
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
The job holder is responsible for:
• The preparation of the field functional unit to the required standard including the main document, lesson plans, handouts, visual aids and question banks.
• Using the PFDs, P&IDs, Operating Procedures, Cause & Effect Charts, Basis of Design, Vendor Documents, etc to develop the training material for each module
• Making sure that the technical English used is clear, concise and unambiguous
• Working with the other technical authors and editor to ensure the different terminologies are standardised and consistent
• Working within the approved style and format developed by the coordinator and editor
• Making the necessary corrections identified by the editor and the Subject Matter Expert
• Tracking and report progress to the coordinator on a monthly basis
• To work within the specified timeframe to ensure that the site specific material is completed on time
• To work with the team to identify areas for improvement and to develop mitigation plans should the project fall behind schedule
• To link the content of each module to the ‘suggested evidence’ developed for the FFU ARAGs
• Any other technical writing deemed necessary by the coordinator

Main Interfaces:
Company
• Interface with the technical Capability Manager
• Interface with the ATC Technical Authors
• Interface with the Coordinator and Editor
• Interface with the SMEs

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The job holder must have
• A minimum Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
• Minimum 12 years of Oil and Gas industry
• Track record as technical author preparing technical documentation including training material

The job holder must have proven:
• Good communication skills
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation
• Skills as a team player and able to deal with different cultural backgrounds
• Proactive approach to the decision making process
