The Role:
Technical Safety Engineer for a large multi-year Greenfield project due for sanction in
2012.
This role is primarily an advisor to, and focal point for both Corporate and allocated
project teams to ensure a thorough consideration of Technical Safety aspects
throughout the Project design, engineering and delivery phases.

Main Duties:
• Actively participate in allocated Projects in Lead Technical Safety role.
• The provision of Technical Safety support to the Corporate HSEQ Manager and
allocated project teams as may be required.
• Ensure all mandatory Technical Safety aspects are adequately considered in Project design, engineering and delivery.
• Develop and ensure implementation of Project Regulatory Requirements Register and Project Risk Registers etc.
• Identify and co-ordinate the development of all necessary Safety Study and risk
management requirements for all project phases.
• Act as project focal point for the liaison with the regulatory authorities and other
external bodies.
• Preparation of Safety Cases in line with regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate/chair the relevant project and safety review workshop sessions (HAZOP,
HAZID, ENID, ALARP, QRA etc.)
• Assess project related tenders from HSE perspective.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in Technical safety role.
• FPSO experience preferable but not essential.
• Experience of offshore developments preferable.
• Knowledge and experience of working under Safety Case regime in a hazardous
Industry.
• Working knowledge of UK environmental statutory requirements advantageous.
• Degree qualified in Technical subject or equivalent.
• IOSH Qualified preferred but not necessarily required.
• Member of or at least working towards membership of relevant professional body.
