The Company:
Our client is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies conducting business in countries all around the globe. They are engaged in every aspect of the crude oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production, manufacturing, marketing and transportation, chemicals manufacturing and sales, geothermal, power generation, renewables and advanced technologies.

The Role:
As Technical Safety Team Lead, you will lead a team of approx. 12 Technical Safety Engineers (staff + contractors) and will be expected to achieve and play a role as Technical Authority 2 for P&T Norway. You’ll support the whole project portfolio in the company providing technical safety engineering support to ongoing projects and development opportunities. An important aspect of the position is to interface with EPCM contractors, our joint venture partners, the Ormen Lange and Draugen operations team and the internal project teams. Your main tasks will be related to leading and providing technical assurance to safety studies, risk analysis, and verification of the technical design of safety systems and functions and ensuring consistency across the portfolio.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Leading a team of technical safety engineers delivering the necessary inputs/outputs to the project portfolio.
Supporting the line manager (SandE and SP Manager), project managers, project teams, joint venture partners and contractors
Providing the Technical Authority 2 role to P&T Norway
Providing technical safety input to design basis documents, technical reports, schedules and plans, technical requisitions and contract documents as required as a TA2.
Verifying and commenting on design documents from contractors and the joint venture partner Participating in reviews and audits
Ensuring all necessary activities related to technical safety are executed in a timely manner and to the right quality in order to meet overall project goals and objectives
Ensuring correct input to update the relevant safety studies
Working closely with the project HSE team, other disciplines in the project Ormen Lange operations and other key stakeholders
Contributing to a healthy and safe work environment through knowledge, awareness and adherence to the companys HSE policy.
Driving AIPSM efforts across the projects.

DIMENSIONS: Number of staff: 10 – 12 plus direct contractors and EPCM. External relationships with UIO, PandT HSE, Specialist Contractors, Regulator SPECIAL CHALLENGES: The role will work on a range of projects (brownfield, Greenfield, offshore, onshore) typically in the late front end pre DG3 and FEED, Define and Execution phases. To effectively deliver balancing the needs and interests of the various local stakeholders (Subsea projects, Nyhamna Project, Draugen projects; Front End, Project and Country HSE management) and to learn and share global practices in Deepwater.

EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS: University degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, and 10 yrs minimum experiencein technical safety engineering experience on large brownfield modifications, development projects or operations projects. You will be at an advantage if you have onshore plant and refinery experience. Experience with EP64 is an advantage.
