The Company:
A global leader in power distribution technologies

The Role:
1. To provide technical support for the Automation Sales Process, to facilitate timely and effective bid responses.
2. To work with the Automation Bid Manager to respond to RFP, RFQ, PQQ, RFI requests in a professional and timely manner
3. Review and appraise technical specifications to establish fit with the client's automation strategy and product offering and contribute to the bid / no bid decision, working within the existing framework of CRM and sales structure.
4. Support the automation bid process by preparing the technical element of proposals, including reviewing specifications, preparing compliance documents and drawings.
5. Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to ensure most appropriate solution is considered, to apply automation technology to meet customers’ distribution network control needs.
6. Attend customer meetings and post tender reviews to further define project offer.
7. Introduce the client's products and services to new and existing customers both internal and external through visits, demonstrations, presentations, and training courses
8. To support the Automation Product Manager and Systems Engineering team in new product development initiatives and marketing activity.
9. Participate in the client's external marketing activity, attending industry driven technical meetings and conferences to gain insight where necessary and feedback.
10. Mentor colleagues and develop their knowledge of automation solutions within secondary electrical distribution networks

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
o Experience in Electrical distribution networks and SCADA systems, with theoretical and practical knowledge of:
o Power Networks infrastructure
o SCADA Systems,
o Communication Systems (e.g. Radio, GPRS, Satellite)
o MV \ LV Switchgear
o Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s)
o Commissioning techniques
o Proven technical training and customer service skills
o Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively with minimal supervision
o Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal formats
o Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
o Ability to work cooperatively in a cross functional team environment
o Ability to explain complex issues and solutions to audiences across all levels of knowledge and seniority.
o Excellent MS Office Skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
o Degree in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in automation
o Knowledge of European language
o Knowledge of protocols and communications with RTUs, PLCs, or IEDs
o MV \ LV site awareness & safety requirements
o Experience of CRM databases, Microsoft Visio or other drawing package and MS Project
o Experience in working in a customer orientated environment
