The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer and is currently experiencing an upturn in production with demand increasing globally.

The Role:
Key responsibilities :-
• Provide technical leadership to a team of performance and combustion engineers within the field of Diesel engine development.
• To be the key representative for engine engineering within technology governance forums and to convert strategic technology work plans into programme specific fuel economy, performance and emissions targets,
• To provide technical leadership in the diesel combustion and performance attribute process.
• To present target status and work plans at senior forums within the company
• To integrate work plans between multi and single cylinder engine programmes to deliver efficient use of hardware and facilities.
• To lead technical direction and target setting to achieve diesel engine targets.
• To influence and characterise diesel calibration methodologies that support robust delivery of engine attribute targets for.
• To provide mentoring and coaching to staff within the team and be responsible for the organization, development and training of a team of engineers within diesel combustion.
• To represent Business in senior technical forums within the industry and to present technical development papers on an annual basis.
• To develop and research new innovation strategies with respect to diesel combustion and performance demonstration
• To provide technical leadership in developing new test methodologies and engineering standards for sign off and validation.
• To lead cross functional reviews on analytical target setting as a feed into vehicle performance predictions.
• To lead technical integration discussions across the wider team and to pro-actively engage with other departments in the resolution of issues.
• To demonstrate leadership in the application of quality tool deployment on engine systems.
• To lead the deployment of single cylinder test methods at internal and external test sites.
• To establish technical and research links with external universities and to establish a technical network of contacts able to shape the future direction of diesel combustion strategies.
• To show leadership in developing new working practices in order to deliver on commitments within tight budgets and time constraints
