The Company:
Our client is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
The role of Technical Specialist - Design Analysis is responsible to provide expert theoretical and practical Finite Element Analysis services to the Chassis and Powertrain Engineering department and collaborates closely with other Analysts, Engineers & Senior Engineers, particularly those who are responsible for the design and development of steering, suspension and powertrain systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out Finite Element analysis on Chassis and Powertrain components for integrity and durability assessment.
- Documentation and reporting of analysis work
- Provide help and guidance to engineers / less experienced staff, including review and approval of the analysis activities
- Develop and maintain own specialist technical knowledge / capability
- Propose process and methods improvements to develop departmental capability
- Develop relationships with counterparts in appropriate internal and group organisations
- Define and plan own work, and manage outsourced work in the same technical areas

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Solid experience in an engineering role in an automotive or related industry
- Expert level theoretical knowledge of Finite Element theory and its application
- Thorough understanding of structural mechanics and the behaviour of materials
- Expert user of typical FE Analysis tools, including Hyperworks, Abaqus and NASTRAN
- Must be an effective communicator

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- An appropriate degree in an Engineering discipline
- Preferably Chartered status
