The Company:
An independent oil operator in the North Sea with a dynamic management team who have exciting growth plans to develop their operations further in the UKCS. My client is currently seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to work on various key projects within thier growing business. The role is based in Aberdeen and reports directly to the Senior Cost Engineer with operational accountability to the Project Manager or Department Head.

The Role:
Overview of and support to Duty Holder Provision of Technical Safety guidance to EnQuest Capital Projects Participating in concept design and selection studies for field developments.
Managing support contractors or internal employees in the delivery of technical safety studies and reviews.
Provide Technical Safety input to projects and new business developments.
Support development teams on converting the engineering concept from field development plans into project specifications etc.
Support project teams during project execution with discipline reviews, troubleshooting, audits etc.
Assisting in evaluation of potential acquisitions and new ventures.
Supporting the Asset teams in the provision of advice in enhancing operating practice Business Process Awareness.
Understand regulatory and legislative requirements.
Ensuring best practice and learning is transferred in and out of the organisation Technical endorsement of modification proposals.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline
Extensive experience of Technical Safety engineering in a Facilities/Developments Engineering environment
A detailed knowledge and application of UK safety case legislation and relevant statutory provisions
Extensive knowledge of major hazard management
Experience of a client/operator environment and knowledge of the safety, environmental and operational aspects of their work
Problem solving & analysis and decision making (Within own recognised boundaries)
Knowledge of process design safety though application of inherently safe design and international standards relating to layers of protection, pressure protection, relief & depressurising systems and instrumented protection systems
Good understanding of E&P surface facilities (process through to operations) and an understanding of interface requirements with subsea disciplines and commercial to enable incorporation of multi-discipline results into the technical safety engineering
