The Role:
Job Summary:
To have responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of all the vessels which includes Offshore Support Vessels (OSV’s) which also can include barges and other marine assets.
Operating to company procedures, policies and client satisfaction and within vessels OPEX budget.

Responsibilities:
1. Take part in preparation of vessels yearly OPEX budget and maintain strict cost control vessels remain within budget
2. Plan, control and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion or modification of vessels
3. Reported deficiencies and defects is soonest discussed with the onboard senior management team, agree remedial actions and close out date
4. Plan, control and execute all activities maintaining vessels statutory, classification and regulatory certification compliance
5. Ensure vessels is maintained in accordance with client requirements, liaise with operations and QHSSE closing out of any deficiencies
6. Monitor vessels performance including daily midnight report, fuel and lubricating oil consumption and take remedial actions where these are outside parameters
7. Regular visits and inspections onboard vessels, prepare and submit vessels condition report
8. Vessels purchasing requisition and selection of vendors/suppliers, stores, spares and services
9. Vessels are properly stocked for safe and efficient operation, obtain approval for any unbudgeted expenditures
10. Implementation and monitoring of vessels planned maintenance system
11. Take part in incident and accident investigations establish the root cause and remedial actions
12. Take part in the preparation of insurance claims, investigations and collecting information
13. Briefing and approval of senior officers and crew, conduct performance appraisals in accordance with procedures.
14. Build and maintain an effective working relationship, proper communication with senior officers onboard is essential
15. On a daily basis liaise with various departments within the Jaya Group – crew, accounting, insurance, QHSSE, marketing, newbuilding and operations
16. Taking delivery of newbuilt vessel, initial preparation and storing of stores and spares

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Min. Diploma in relevant discipline
- Marine Engineer background as engineer onboard vessels, shipyard, classification or similar
- Min. of 2-5 years of experience in the management and operation of Offshore Support Vessels
- Min. 2 – 3 years of sailing experience an advantage
- Previous experience in budgeting and cost control

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Good communication (oral and written) and English language skills
- Good interpersonal skills, hands-on and positive attitude
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Ability to take responsibility and effectively execute
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office program
