The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
• Occasional on site support to provide technical assistance and maintenance support may be required as well as some infrequent travel in the UK and abroad.
• Maintain all personal test equipment in working order and calibrated / PAT tested.
• Support to a 24x7 on call system with some technical support requirements out of hours and occasional manning of the 24x7 pager system.
• Review, assess and maintain an active database of installed products to provide lifecycle notices and best practice recommendations to our customer base.
• Liaise with factory support-lines and product managers to provide an active early alert service for product issues.
• Take part in Global Product Certification Scheme.
• Identify opportunities for new business.
• Liaison and networking with sales, service engineers and management within service communities.
• Provide telephone technical support to customers, Staff and alliance partners on the range of current and classic drive products.
• Provide ongoing liaison and relationship building with contract customer base.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Demonstrate sound knowledge of rotating machines, electrical principles and power electronics. Good understanding of variable speed drives.
 Minimum OND Electrical or electronic engineering Experience required
 Must be able to work independently with the minimum of supervision and work as part of a team.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
 A working knowledge of technical libraries and computer based systems will be a distinct advantage.
 Ideally worked in a similar role before or has developed good sound drive product knowledge through previous work experience
 Knowledge of SAP and other Business Systems
