The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
To coordinate the technical training requirements for onshore and offshore personnel, to ensure all Company personnel and Contractors are trained to an acceptable level, and to administer the Technical Training Management System.

Key Accountabilities
• Support the Competency & Technical Training Manager on competence and training issues ensuring consistency of approach.
• Focal Point for Company Upstream Training.
• Coordinate technical training requirements with Departmental Managers.
• Identify and implement training support requirements.
• Proactively plan and manage all training requirements with particular focus on mandatory refresher training.
• Collate and present weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Co-ordinate training database and record keeping.
• Co-ordinate onshore/offshore personnel’s training related logistics.
• Co-ordinate training venues, accommodation and travel as required.
• Identify job specific training profile requirements and develop training matrices.
• Co-ordinate regular reviews of training matrices to ensure industry and legislative standards are met.
• Monitor, evaluate and facilitate the continuous improvement of internal & external training courses.
• Must be able to meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframe.
• Liaise with Awarding Bodies regarding registration, progression and certification of candidates, including co-ordination of External Verifier visits.
• Ensure contracts are in place with Company approved service providers.
• Raise purchase orders/requisitions, and provide cost control.
• Develop integration of the various Competency and Training databases.
• Determine suitable training programmes to enable development of individuals and to close gaps identified through the Competency process.
• Support the Competency system and process.
• Coordinate & facilitate meetings with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Optimise technical training requirements for Company and minimise costs.
• Develop induction training programme for new employees.
• Direct the activities of the Technical Training Assistant.
• Direct the activities of the Training Administration Assistant.
• Develop/co-ordinate effective Technical Training budget management.
• Co-ordinate data acquisition and control.
• Liaise with personnel at all levels to provide a comprehensive and proactive Training Management Service.
• Continuous development of the Training Management System.
• Develop training matrix and job specific training profiles Deputise for Competency & Technical Training Manager as required.
• Support Competency & Technical Training Manager.
• Liaise with the Competency and Technical Training Team members.
• Liaise with the HR and HSSE departments and all UKU departments for training needs.
• Liaise with external training organisations, awarding bodies, service providers, travel and accommodation providers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Prior knowledge and experience of scheduling, coordinating and recording of training activities.
• Prior experience as a Training Coordinator.
• Budget preparation and control.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook.
• Proficient in the use of databases with the ability to monitor and control data acquisition and processing.
• Oil & Gas technical experience would be beneficial.
• English speaker.
• University Degree or similar.
• A high level of education/experience preferably in a training/technical discipline would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication, time management and influencing skills are essential.
• Must be a “self starter” and able to function autonomously.
• Must be able to work effectively with individuals and different teams / work groups in other departments or companies.
• Customer oriented.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Problem solving ability arising from the need
