The Role:
The role is responsible for taking input from various sources and developing GoM standard Maintenance, Test and Inspection Task work procedures using a predefined template. All procedures are written for execution of specific tasks. The procedures will be written across all disciplines: mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation
Information required to develop the procedures will be gathered by others and supplied to the role. Examples of this information include: existing procedures, vendor documentation and manuals, drawings, etc. On some occasions the writer will need to query Smartplant® and Documentum for supporting documentation. The writer must consolidate the various pieces of information into a detailed step by step task procedures
Development of the procedures will require numerous reviews and edits of the same document. The role will be responsible for reviewing and incorporating the edits after the have been reviewed for content by one of the project team members
The role will be responsible for maintaining a procedure index which will identify the various states of review and approval for all procedures.
The role will interface with the Sites through a coordinator that will follow-up on status of procedures and gather additional technical information as required

Key Accountabilities:
• Development of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation procedures
• Revision to existing Maintenance, Inspection, and Testing templates as needed
• Complete the Stylus guide for MITTP template to ensure consistency when writing Maintenance procedures
• Create and maintain project-specific editing checklist
• Make edits to procedures as required by ERS engineer

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Five years of demonstrated experience as a technical writer
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to quickly understand and comprehend technical manuals and drawings for equipment.
• Experience work with and managing feedback from multiple sources
• Skilled at repeating common used phrases so that final documents look and read the same
• Capable of developing and using a common library of phrases and terms
• Able to associate task sequences and get them in the proper order
• Skilled at selected when a graphic in a procedure would facilitate simplicity and ease of use.
• Understand the appropriate use of notes, warning and cautions in developing a document
• Experience in Word and the use of styles
• Experience in the use of graphic tools to manipulate drawings.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience as a mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation technician.
