The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
- To carry out controlled engine builds and strips for engine / component development programs within the engineering engine test facility.
- This is achieved by meticulous engine building processes, inspection, measurement and assembly to agreed processes and to defined standards.
- Accurate record-keeping and documentation is essential.
- Carry out modifications, instrumentation and enhancement work to test specimens in conjunction with Test Engineer and facility customers.
Work flexibly to support the successful achievement of facility objectives.

Scope of job:

- Controlled assembly and disassembly of test engines and sub-assemblies
- Record-keeping, documentation
- Measurement of components / Assemblies
- Modification and Instrumentation of engine components
- Diagnosis of mechanical faults
- Maintenance of workplace, facility, tools and equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement of facility and working practices

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Recognised apprenticeship qualification, City & Guilds mechanical / electrical engineering, ONC or equivalent practical experience
- Gasoline engine build experience, including measurement of components
- Understanding of engine operation at component / system level
