The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide.
The Role:
Processes
• Have accountability for all telecoms deliverables
• Produce / manage the production of drawings, specifications and technical documents in accordance with the NR GRIP design stages, at least up to GRIP 5. GRIP 6-8 an added advantage
• Provide input to project management, e.g. progress report, risk registers, early warnings, technical queries
• Interface with other multidisciplinary designers, contractors and Project Engineers
• Red Line design information pack
• Undertake site surveys and produce asset condition reports
• Lead on commissioning and site acceptance testing
• Provide input to tendering team
• Fulfil the duties of the Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) where requires
People and Team Development
• Lead the telecom engineering team
• Identify the training needs, skills and competency gaps and
Customer
• Ensure on time delivery of telecom deliverables
Compliance
• Compliance with the Code of Conduct, Ethics and Corporate governance
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Graduate or HNC in relevant discipline
• Good verbal and written understanding of English
• Proven experience as Telecoms CRE with the skills to engage/manage with their counterpart
• Knowledge on UK Network Rail GRIP design methodology
• An ability to work under pressure and own initiative
• MS Office skills and relevant engineering software packages
• Experienced in co-ordination of design process and team management
• Willing to travel and work unsocial hours as required on an occasional basis
• Knowledge and experience on Cisco network design, engineering and implementation
• SCADA (HMI and Remote Terminal Units)
