Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
As the Telecommunication Engineer (System Integration Lead) you will provide direction, from a delivery perspective, to the various functions / disciplines involved in the delivery of System Integration, the consistent integration of the permanent Project telecommunications and operational data systems.

The Telecommunications Engineer (System Integration Lead) will work in support of the Area Manager to ensure the overall delivery, including scope, cost and schedule management of System Integration. Responsibilities span from detailed engineering phase to the final commissioning of the facilities.

As the Telecommunications Engineer (System Integration Lead) you will:
• Work closely with the Telecoms Lead, Project Services/Planner(s), Engineering Managers, Construction and Completions Managers, Quality Assurance, Ready for Operations group and other functional expertise during the design, procurement and construction phases of the Project.
• Responsible to clearly identify, develop, document, schedule, assign responsibility and manage:
o internal Project telecom package interfaces
o all external stakeholder system integration interfaces
o SCADA and Asset Management integration interfaces, including 10 point standards, finalization, names, states, IED evaluation and IED address management.
o system integration Work Task Orders.
o system integration deliverables and milestones to ensure compliance with Project schedule.
• Liaise with Project and Contractor Interface coordinators, and with external stakeholders, to ensure interfaces are progressed in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the identification and preparation of agreements pertaining to third party telecom infrastructure access.
• Work with Project Package Leaders, provide technical review of Contractor detailed design specifications and drawings to ensure Contractor compliance to 10, IED and telecom standards.
• Highlight and monitor critical items in co-operation with other team members.
• Work with Project Controls to ensure effective cost and schedule control for system integration Work Task Orders and package(s).
• Facilitate problem resolution and assume responsibility to ensure closure.
Where required, responsible for procurement within allocated package(s), including but not limited to preparation and approval of purchase requisitions and purchase orders; material procurement and receipt; REP call and evaluation; material bid evaluations, and award.
• Where required, responsible for contract and construction management within allocated package(s), including deliverables, budget, schedule, quality, progress payments, and approval of invoicing.
Where required, work with Buyer / Contract Administrator to ensure key procurement activities and recommendations are undertaken, including review and approval of contracting strategy, bidder's list, bid evaluation plan, award recommendation, final contract for execution, and that the necessary financial authorizations (i.e. requisitions) are in place.
• Following award, work with Contract Administrator to ensure obligations of both Company and Contractor are adhered to.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Significant experience in technical project delivery and construction, with a focus on electric utility systems.
• Strong understanding of power electrical telecommunications networks, industrial or utility, controls, and/or overall electric utility systems and integration, including design, construction and completions.
• Strong knowledge of fibre optics systems and associated equipment (RTUs, gateways, etc.).
• Understanding of project management processes and management systems.
• Contract formulation and administration experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• On-site construction supervision experience considered an asset.
