The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.

In Australia they are involved in one of the largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:
As the Telecommunications Project Engineers you will be the Company telecommunications representative and interface between the Company Project teams, the EPC contractors, and Vendors as required. Reporting to the Senior Telecommunications Engineer and the local Project Engineer for the facilities (LNG, FPSO, CPF etc), the team will deliver a design that meets the requirements of the project in safety, reliability, operability and maintainability throughout its 40yr service life.

• Provide a local presence in project offices for the Company to ensure telecommunications quality and:
o To coordinate and review the day to day onshore/offshore project design, installation and ongoing development through FEED and EXECUTION.
o Co-ordinate the handover activities for telecommunications design, construction, and commissioning of the Project facilities
o Supervise local telecommunications suppliers, vendors and completions contractors personnel.
• Ensure telecom design minimizes the impact on the environment in line with project requirements.
• Assist the project team with budgets for telecommunications activities associated with Onshore/Offshore.
• Supervise work carried out by Contractors.
• Coordinate/prioritize assigned work in line with project requirements.
• Assist in identifying project risks and implement agreed mitigation measures as required.
• Support and guide the work carried out by Contractors for the design and specifications of equipment, procurement, construction, installation and hookup and commissioning of telecom systems.
• Participate in HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP's, Design Reviews, Constructability Reviews etc.
• Review and comment of Contractor / Supplier documentation in a timely manner.
• Promote the use of IM&T standards, architectures, procedures and processes.
• Ensure project deliverables and activities are achieved in accordance with the project milestone dates.
• Have understanding and knowledge of telecommunication system design for onshore/offshore facilities and producing operations.
• Have knowledge and experience to specify and select telecom equipment and system including communication during emergency control.
• Support/advise the project team and Contractors on telecom systems design, construction and hookup and commissioning to meet project requirements.
• Have understanding of the design of other engineering disciplines including process, structural, electrical, instrumentation, loss control, weight control etc.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations as required.
• Compliance with accepted industry-wide IM&T and telecommunications best practices, and in particular aligning with standards such as ACMA and the Telecommunications Act.
• Support for field based mobile facilities including rescue vessels, aircraft, MODU etc.
• Ensure interface requirements with the offshore, onshore and subsea facilities are incorporated into the design.
• Ensure operations and maintenance requirements and in particular marine operations are incorporated in the design.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Telecommunications or related field, or relevant experience.
• Min 15yrs experience in multidiscipline design of Onshore/Offshore Oil and Gas Facilities.
• High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, precommissioning, installation and hookup and commissioning.
• Must hold or be capable of receiving a HUET and MSIC Card.
• Multi-Telco vendor experience.

• Willing to work overseas on a regular basis.
