Tendering Engineer

The Role:

• Preparation of pre-qualifications and tenders in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS).
• Assist in the pursuit of future business in accordance with BMS.
• Prepare accurate and economic costing of tenders with due regard to competitor positions and market trends.
• Organise the workload of the tender team, within budget and in time for the necessary approvals to be obtained.
• Liaison with Territory and Global Sales & Marketing to ensure commonality of approach and cross learning.
• Liaison with legal, tax, project operations, engineering and vessel support teams to obtain their input throughout the life of the tender.
• Preparation of internal tender authorisation papers, presentations and documents.
• Negotiation of terms and conditions of tenders with customers and suppliers to achieve the best commercial position.
• Assist in the improvement of working practices of the department.
• Maintain appropriate records and data during the tender process to ensure a proper and efficient handover to project teams.
• Provide business planning and reporting assistance to the Tendering Manager.
• Receive functional guidance, direction and advice from the Tendering Manager.
Qualifications and Education

General Education:
Degree qualified (ideally in Quantity Surveying, Business Management, Engineering, Marketing) or similar is essential.
Consideration will be given to applicants with related work experience with HNC/HND qualifications in an associated background.
Specified Qualifications for position:
An individual which produces work that is consistent, high quality and accurate is essential.
Continuing Professional Development:
Ability to demonstrate and / or show willingness to develop themselves as appropriate to the job role is essential.


Technical (including IT):
Good negotiation skills and the ability to articulate views in a comprehensive and concise manner is essential.
Awareness of the implications of fiscal considerations is essential.
Composed and polite internal and external company communication ability is essential.
Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role is essential.
Self Management:
Good organisational skills and smart working methods are essential.
Ability to prioritise own workload is essential.


Relevant previous experience in a similar tendering environment is essential.
Ability to negotiate with internal and external clients is essential.
